Paediatric cardiology

Our healthcare centre specialises in particular in paediatric and adolescent cardiology.

One of the key competences of our specialist practice is the complex outpatient treatment of newborns, infants, children and adolescents with congenital or acquired heart diseases, focusing in particular on preoperative and postoperative cardiology patients.

With our highly specialized paediatric cardiologist, Priv. Doz. Dr. med. Okan Toka, our healthcare centre can guarantee expert treatment of children after heart transplants and care of patients with pacemakers.

Our range of expertise in paediatric cardiology includes:

• Echocardiography with colour and tissue Doppler
• Resting ECG, long-term ECG and event recorder ECG
• Cardiac stress test using an ergometer
• Monitoring and reprogramming of pacemakers
• Pulmonary function testing with spirometry and whole body plethysmography

We cooperate closely with the regional paediatric cardiology centre at the university hospital of Erlangen. In cases of clinical requirement or on request, we can also contact paediatric cardiology centres throughout Germany and abroad.

We can promptly confirm an appointment for you at our healthcare centre. However, if you are unable to make your appointment, we request you to cancel the appointment in good time (24 hours in advance), so that we have the chance to offer one of the limited appointments during our special consultation hours to another family.
